The bioactive nano-scaled materials have been used either for implants or drug delivery vehicles. While a number of empirical and computational studies have been published, most research on the application of MOFs in TERM focus on bone implants.
In this research, physicochemical and computational studies were performed for quantitative and qualitative characterization of the MOFs to investigate their efficacies. Computational methods employing Density Functional Theory (DFT) were used to model linkers and joints of the MOFs. The molecules were assessed for their thermodynamic stability, reactivity, and other physical factors to measure their effectiveness. Molecular editing programs equipped with an auto-optimization feature, which determines the theoretical values of a certain molecule’s atomic and biochemical properties of the molecules using Density Functional Theory were used.
