P68.00001: Join our workshop to learn about Quantum measurement topology and proper resistivity measurements. Brad Odhner Quantum experiments can be optimized with a well-designed test and measurement topology. This presentation will include a basic setup of quantum experiments using different types of signal sources and their unique advantages. See examples of real topologies deployed in the industry with digitizers and signal sources and gain a better understanding of how to make quantum technologies a reality today. We'll explore the challenges experienced when scaling up, including synchronization of multiple signal sources, and pros and cons of up-conversion and direct synthesis. Then, you’ll see how the particular resistivity measurement method to apply depends upon the nature of the material being tested, i.e., conductor, insulator, or semiconductor. Examples of the measurement methods covered include 2-wire and 4-wire methods such as insulation resistance, van der Pauw, and 4-point collinear probe. During the talk we’ll address issues related to sourcing current or voltage, timing, and correcting for offsets. By attending you’ll receive a number of practical tips that will allow you to make better measurements at the outset, and thereby reduce time-consuming trial and error. |
