In the current research, thin film of polymerized ionic liquid with different molecular structures prepared by solvent casting on a silicon wafer substrate. Broadband dielectric spectroscopy (BDS), vibrational spectroscopic methods (FTIR, Raman Spectroscopy), and X-ray scattering were employed to explore the effect of molecular structure on the charge transport and dynamics of the polymerized ionic liquids (PILs) in the one-dimensional confinement in comparison with the bulk. The effect of interfacial interactions, film thickness, and confinement on the ion was determined. The conductivity of the confined samples governed by molecular structure, interfacial interaction, and film thickness. This study provides new insight into understanding the ion dynamics of the PolyILs in confining geometries.
