In this study, 1D configuration Al6061 sample is assumed to be pulled in the speed ranging 0.5~1.5km/s, and the sample behavior is studied by the conservation equations based analytical approach and a series MD (molecular dynamic) code simulation to reveal the nature of the extreme tension wave. It was identified that the extreme tension wave shows a typical ramp wave nature, and the slope of ramp wave front gets lower as it propagates delivering the potential application to the study of quasi-isentrope in tension.
