In particular, we use the time-dependent variational principle (TDVP) to investigate the time evolution of the spectral weight, which is a quantity accessible to time-resolved ARPES experiments.
Different scenarios for the photoexcitations are discussed, e.g., Peierls-substitution or direct excitation in k-space.
Using MPS, we can study in detail the effect of the electron-electron interaction on the redistribution of the band populations in the various photoexcitation setups.
