Recently, superconductivity has been reported for Sr-doped nickelate NdNiO₂ thin films [1]. This intriguing result represents a realization of the long-sought superconductivity in oxides that possess low-valence nickel cations in square planar coordination. In this work, we have synthesized bulk polycrystalline Nd_1-xSr_xNiO₃ and Nd_1-xSr_xNiO₂ compounds. The electrical, magnetic and structural properties of these compounds are discussed.
