In this talk, we propose a different approach: instead of trying to realize Majorana modes in solid-state systems such as Superconducting/Semiconducting naowires, we propose to engineer an array of transmon qubits to realize a meta material with Majorana modes. We will present an example design of such system, the chip layout, as well as discuss braiding, fusion, and readout schemes. We will also disucss intricaties and constraints associated with practical device fabrication procedures.
