The event consists of a few virtual roundtable discussions with fellow students each with their own topic of discussion. Each roundtable will be randomly assigned through Rally to get a chance to meet with as many people as possible. Some topics to facilitate discussion include:
□ Research
o What is your research on, or what would you like to do research on in the future? What’s the next step in your research endeavors?
□ What are some challenges, lessons learned, and/or pieces of advice for your peers?
o What are some challenges or life lessons you have learned from college, career, research, teaching, etc. that you’d like to share with your peers or even past-you?
□ How did you decide to study/work in the field you are in today?
o How did you get into this field? Did you plan it? Did you just happen to end up here?
□ What is your dream job?
o What do you see yourself doing in 5 years? 10 years?
□ What do you do outside work/school?
o What are your hobbies, or what hobbies would you like to pick up? Do you have a special skill you are very proud of?
Bring your lunch if it’s that time, chat, and exchange LinkedIn information or virtual business cards with your peers! Be sure to take note of someone you may like to talk to in the future. We look forward to seeing you there!
