A new broadband reflectivity platform on Omega-EP*

​​For the dynamic compression experiments regularly performed on facilities like Omega-EP, time resolved measurements of samples' reflectivities as they are compressed provide information on electronic structure. Papers have been published based on reflectivity data measured at a single 532 nm probe wavelength provided by the Velocity Interferometer System for Any Reflector. A new capability was recently brought online to measure time-resolved optical spectra in the 450-750 nm range, allowing the first broadband reflectivity measurements of laser compressed materials. With a broadband reflectivity measurement, the experimental signatures of different changes in electronic structure will be precisely diagnosed for the first time. Design of the broadband reflectivity platform, and results from first experiments will be presented.​
