Code has been validated against axisymmetric annular Hartmann flow reference case (with and without a free surface) and also extensively verified against in-house 1D code for the cylindrical compression of the toroidal and poloidal magnetic fields in vacuum. A more complex case for the compression of magnetized target initialized with a Grad-Shafranov equilibrium state in the cylindrical geometry has been compared to the results produced with VAC (Versatile Advection Code).
Results obtained to date are encouraging and the newly developed solver appears to be robust and provides interesting and useful insight into dynamics of imploding liquid metal liners. In the poster we will discuss solver itself, verification cases and application to the problems of interest with regard to FDP.
