We can further enhance these non-linearities by using slot waveguides in which we observe repulsive interactions of the atoms within the slot via an enlarged Purcell factor. Thereby we generate a medium that reaches already in this specific setting a nonlinearity on the few photon level. In order to verify the nature of the non-linearity in more detail we incorporate an integrated Mach-Zehnder interferometer to access also the non-linear phase shift.
Furthermore, we present first measurements of the phase shift in a thermal atomic vapor using a fiber based 3x3 interferometer.
