In this trapping methodology, a custom transmission mask and Fourier filtering is used to create a landscape of alternating high and low optical intensity regions. An 808-nm laser is blue-detuned to Cs’s D lines and red-detuned to Rb’s D lines, allowing for simultaneous trapping of Rb and Cs in bright and dark traps, respectively.
We present progress on atom loading in a 2-D grid array of 27 x 27 Rb trapping sites simultaneously with an interlaced grid of 26 x 26 Cs trapping sites. We report trap lifetimes and radial and axial trap frequencies for both species.
