G01.00001: Diversity Reception To kick off this year's Diversity Reception, the recently formed DAMOP DEI Committee will introduce itself, and will facilitate a discussion and listening session centered on the prompt, "What is one action the DAMOP community could take to make a big difference towards diversity, inclusivity, and/or equity at the meeting (and beyond)?" Participants will be encouraged to break into small groups to discuss the prompt, followed by an opportunity for sharing ideas using submissions to an online comment platform and through large-group discussion. Through this activity, we hope to plant seeds for further discussions throughout the conference, and to take away actionable items for the committee's ongoing activities. Following this activity (approx. 30 minute), participants will be invited to informally continue the discussions, socialize, and network over the reception's food and drinks. |
