Short-Range Correlations in the A=3 System*

Short-range correlated nucleon-nucleon pairing is a universal feature of nuclei and has been studied in nuclei ranging in size from deuterium to lead. Studies of light nuclei in particular, have the advantage of being in range of sophisticated theoretical calculations using realistic nucleon-nucleon potentials, which can aid the interpretation of experimental data. In this presentation I review recent measurements of quasi-elastic scattering performed on A=3 nuclei, an isospin doublet comprised of helium-3 and tritium, and what they have revealed about the isospin structure of short-range correlations in this system. I also present new quasi-elastic cross section calculations, based on a realistic spectral function, and compare them to both inclusive and semi-inclusive data.
