Scaling behaviors in two-nucleon short-range correlations and beyond*

The short-range correlations(SRCs) of nucleons in nuclei are the major source of high-momentum components in the nucleon momentum distribution. Kinematically, SRCs can be isolated in inclusive quasi-elastic scattering by selecting high initial momentum nucleons at Bjorken x>1 and high enough four-momentum transfer Q^2. Previous experiments observed scaling behavior, i.e. a plateaus with respect to x in nucleus A to deuteron cross section ratios at the two-nucleon SRC dominant kinematics, for Q^2>1.4 GeV^2 which is explained by the dominance of deuteron-like neutron-proton SRC configuration across all nuclei.

In this talk, we discuss the SRC scaling in few-body nuclei with tritium, helium-3 to deuteron (e,e') cross section ratios from two experiments at Jefferson Lab Hall A. The wide kinematic coverage of the data (0.7<x<3, 0.6<Q^2<1.9 GeV^2) enables tests of scaling violations in 2N SRC, demonstrating significantly improved scaling in these light nuclei, as well as potentially providing constraints on the structure of three-nucleon SRCs.
