crystaLiZe: into the neutrino fog with solid xenon*

The sensitivity of world-leading liquid xenon WIMP-search detectors are limited by radon decay chain backgrounds. We propose the use of a crystalline xenon time projection chamber to exclude these radon backgrounds. Such a radon-free experiment could be limited solely by the irreducible neutrino background i.e., the neutrino fog. In this talk, we present results from Berkeley Lab, focusing on radon exclusion and projected physics reach. We also highlight current efforts at UT Austin for an upcoming 10 kg scale crystalline detector.
