H01.00001: Physics at next generation colliders Invited Speaker: Nathaniel Craig We plan to construct the next generation of colliders because there is new fundamental knowledge to be gained at the energy frontier — knowledge about both the Standard Model itself and the more fundamental theory that underlies it. I'll survey the main open questions in particle physics and the motivation they provide for successors to the Large Hadron Collider, from precision Higgs factories to high-energy lepton and hadron colliders. |
Thursday, April 4, 2024 2:06PM - 2:42PM |
H01.00002: R&D for Future Colliders Invited Speaker: Sergey A Belomestnykh In this talk I will discuss accelerator R&D topics critical for future colliders. These colliders include circular and linear e+e- Higgs factories, and longer-term options such as muon and hadron high energy colliders. Emphasis will be placed on describing R&D for activities prioritized in the recent P5 report. The talk will cover radio frequency technology, high-filed superconducting magnets, muon cooling, energy efficiency, and other R&D topics. |
Thursday, April 4, 2024 2:42PM - 3:18PM |
H01.00003: Higgs factories Invited Speaker: Eliana Gianfelice-Wendt With the discovery of the Higgs boson the need for a Higgs factory is widely recognized in the high energy physics community. In this talk an overview of various proposals for realizing a Higgs factory and their status and plans will be presented. |
