Development of precision cross section measurement of ZZ→2l2ν production with the ATLAS detector*

An overview of the ongoing measurement of the differential cross section of diboson ZZ production in the final states containing two charged leptons and two neutrinos resulting from proton-proton collisions at √s =13 TeV (pp→ZZ→2l2ν) is presented. The data sampled correspond to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb^-1 collected during the ATLAS detector’s full Run-2. The analysis currently uses a mix of techniques; a comparison between multivariable analysis (MVA) background rejection techniques and cut-based techniques are presented. Current inclusive and differential results are compared with earlier ATLAS and CMS measurements, neither of which used MVA, at lower integrated luminosities.
