Shape coexistence in the heavy N=Z isotopes from first principles*

We compute low-lying collective states and electromagnetic transition for the N = Z isotopes ⁷²Kr, ⁷⁶Sr, ⁸⁰Zr, and ⁸⁴Mo using ab initio coupled-cluster methods. We find good agreement for B(E2)’s while rotational bands are a bit too compressed. Interestingly we also predict several co-existing shapes at large deformation.
