Knute E Thorsgard Since "can't begin to catch the wave" looks exactly like "can't begin to catch the horizon" when a wave is fast enough to reach the horizon during a quantum of time, the historical decision to deem equal interferometry measurements equally valid rather than equally invalid deserves reconsideration. |

N14.00002: Strong cosmic censorship conjecture for a charged BTZ black hole Chiranjeeb Singha The strong cosmic censorship conjecture, whose validation asserts the deterministic nature of general relativity, has been studied for charged BTZ black holes in three-dimensional general relativity, as well as for Nth-order pure Lovelock gravity in d=2N+1 spacetime dimensions. Through both analytical and numerical routes, we have computed the ratio of the imaginary part of the quasi-normal mode frequencies with the surface gravity at the Cauchy horizon. The lowest of which corresponds to the key parameter associated with the violation of strong cosmic censorship conjecture. Our results demonstrate that this parameter is always less than the critical value (1/2), thereby respecting the strong cosmic censorship conjecture. This is in complete contrast to the four or, higher-dimensional black holes, as well as for rotating BTZ black holes, where the violation of strong cosmic censorship conjecture exists. |

N14.00003: Analysis of van Stockum Dust external solutions David S Lindsay We describe external vacuum solutions for radial cutoff of “van Stockum dust”, an infinitely long cylindrical rotating matter solution of Einstein’s equations of general relativity. These poorly explored spacetimes have been known for decades, but it seems that they have never been investigated in detail. They exhibit a number of exotic properties, which we described more fully in General Relativity and Gravitation (2016 48:121). Exotic properties include “time travel” in infinitely many cylindrical shells alternating with shells not permitting time travel. The radius of this “universe” is finite, with diverging gravitational tides and repulsion at the “edge.” |

N14.00004: On Time and Space being Local and Non-Linear, No Background Spacetime Martin Alpert This theory proposes that the relationship between the arrow of time and entropy is not only qualitative, but quantitative. This leads to the conclusion that relationships generate local space and changes in relationships (event) generate local time. Non-linear and local characterization of time and space is in contrast to events occurring in a background spacetime, i.e., externally observed duration and length. Background space and time are statistical averages. Quantum mechanical observations are explained using hidden variables; particles and properties exist, even if not observed. As a consequence of this theory, mass can be modeled as relationships and EM energy (waves) as continuous relationship changes. EM energy, thus, generates spacetime and does not propagate in spacetime. An indication that time is local and based on relationships is that local time is zero (always in the present) for photons, complete entanglement, and infinite crystals at 0oK where there is zero change in relationships. Double-slit observations and entanglement are shown to be based on the same quantum mechanical mechanism. A consequence of this theory is that the inflationary phase after the big bang is attributed to this nonlinear spacetime relationship. Experiments are proposed that may verify space is due to local relationships and time is a result of local relationship changes; e.g., spacetime is local, nonlinear and variable. |
