F19.00001: APS Innovation Programs Kathryn Walters-Conte, Tessa Lewis, Tremaine Brittian The new APS Programs Innovation Unit is a hub for projects built upon innovation practices, including the APS Innovation Fund, as well as new initiatives and partnerships at APS. Since 2019 the APS Innovation Fund (IF) has provided opportunities for APS Members to propose and execute new activities that advance the APS mission to invest in new, emerging opportunities to benefit members, the broader physics community, and society. Since 2019, IF has offered five solicitations, received hundreds of proposals, and funded thirteen projects. Here we will review these projects' many successes and their impacts on the Physics community. We will also discuss the 2023 strategic evaluation of the fund and elicit feedback from the audience on the types of innovation activities that can further their goals in engaging with the Physics community. |
