B15.00002: Overview of JLab Primakoff Program Liping Gan The Primakoff effect, a process of high-energy photo- or electro-production of mesons in the Coulomb field of a target offers a powerful experimental tool to explore the confinement QCD and the new physics beyond the standard model. This process has distinguishable characteristics: (1) it is a coherent process; (2) the differential cross section is peaked at extremely forward angles; and (3) the cross section increases with the beam energy. These characteristics serve as natural kinematic filters to distinguish the Primakoff signal from the other nuclear backgrounds. There has been a comprehensive Primakoff program at JLab 6 and 12 GeV. The future JLab 22 GeV upgrade will greatly expand the physics scope and experimental sensitivities of this program. An overview and the future perspective of JLab Primakoff program will be presented. |

B15.00003: Neutral Pion Tranzition Form Factors Measured through the Primakoff Mechanizm on Atomic Electrons at very Low Q2 Range. Ashot Gasparian One of the largest uncertainties in the Standard Model prediction for the muon g-2 magnetic moment is coming from the hadronic light-by-light scattering mechanism. The uncertainty on this contribution critically depends on knowledge of the neutral pion transition form factors at low Q2 region. Arguably, to measure this process with an accuracy that is appropriate for the task is using the electroproduction of neutral pions on atomic electrons via the Primakoff mechanism. Simultaneous detection of the scattered and recoil electrons together with two photons from the neutral pion decay process in the experiment will provide a full control of the reaction kinematics and, most importantly, will completely remove the hadronic contributions that are the main background sources in all other Primakoff type of experiments. The initial Monte Carlo simulation results to optimize this experiment with the CEBAF 20+ GeV energy upgrade will be presented and discussed in this talk. |

B15.00005: Dark particle searches in Hall-D with Jefferson Lab at 22~GeV Igal Jaegle Jefferson Lab at 22~GeV will offer a unique opportunity to search for new hypothetical GeV scale dark particles produced by a tagged photon beam impinging an electron, nucleon, or nuclei target via the Compton and Primakoff processes, and via meson decays. In this talk, I will present the sensitivities for different dark particle scenarios with the GlueX setup in Halld-D. |
