Decaying Dark Matter and the Current Cosmological Data Sets*

One possibility for the dark sector of the universe is the existence of a dark radiation component produced from a decay of cold dark matter. We have studied the influence of this decaying dark matter (DDM) on the cosmic microwave background (CMB). In particular, we examined the impact of DDM on the existing disagreement in the measurements of the Hubble constant and σ₈ inferred from Planck CMB observations and determined directly using local observables, i.e. SH0ES and DES datasets. We report that allowable adjustments of the DDM model helps to satisfy the observational constraints.
