ME.00002: Path optimization in field theories with sign problem Yuto Mori, Kouji Kashiwa, Akira Ohnishi In order to avoid the sign problem appearing in some field theories such as finite density QCD, we have proposed the path optimization method [1-3]. In this method, the integral path in the complexified variable space is parametrized and optimized variationally to minimize the cost function representing the seriousness of the sign problem. Then the sign problem can be regarded as an optimization problem, in which various optimization techniques such as the machine learning are available. The path optimization method have been applied to a one dimensional integral [1], finite density complex scalar field [2], and the Polyakov loop extended Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model [3]. In these cases, the average phase factor is enhanced significantly. In the presentation, we discuss the sign problem in finite density complex scalar field theory [2] and the 0+1 dimensional QCD.

ME.00003: Lattice QCD study of the J/ψ-N interaction Takuya Sugiura, Yoichi Ikeda, Noriyoshi Ishii In this talk, we report on our study of the J/ψ-N interaction from lattice QCD simulations. We employ the method developed by the HAL QCD method, which utilizes the relation between the spatial part of a hadron-hadron correlation function and the QCD S-matrix. We show that the J/ψ-N interaction consists of 4 terms at the lowest order of the derivative expansion: the central, the spin-spin, and two tensor-like terms. One of the tensor-like term involves both the J/ψ and N spins, whereas the other depends only on the J/ψ spin. We shall discuss the relative strength of these terms in the context of the heavy-quark symmetry. |

ME.00004: Phase structures of finite density QCD from Lee-Yang zeros in lattice QCD with canonical approach Masayuki Wakayama, Vitaly Bornyakov, Denis Boyda, Vladimir Goy, Hideaki Iida, Alexander Molochkov, Atsushi Nakamura, Valentin Zakharov We report Lee-Yang zeros behavior at finite temperature and density using the canonical approach in lattice QCD. The quark number densities are calculated at the pure imaginary chemical potential iμqI in lattice QCD. Canonical partition functions Zc(n,T,V) up to some maximal values of n are obtained through fitting the theoretically motivated functions to the quark number densities and used to compute the Lee-Yang zeros. We study the temperature dependence of the distributions of the Lee-Yang zeros around the pseudo-critical temperature region T/Tc = 0.84 - 1.35. A Roberge-Weiss phase transition at T/Tc ≥ 1.20 is observed in the distributions of the Lee-Yang zeros. We also discuss the dependence of the behaviors of Lee-Yang zeros on the maximal value of n. |

ME.00005: Calculating the spectrum of the charmed baryons from Lattice QCD Kadir Utku Can, Guray Erkol, Makoto Oka, Toru T. Takahashi, Huseyin Bahtiyar, Philipp Gubler We extract the spectrum of charmed baryons on $32^3 \times 64$, $2+1$-flavor gauge ensembles. Calculations are performed with almost physical light quarks, $m_\pi \sim 156$ MeV, and physical strange and charm quarks. A relativistic heavy-quark action is used for valance charm quarks to suppress the systematic errors. We employ a two-fold variational analysis in order to access the excited states by varying the interpolating operators and smearing parameters independently. In this talk, we report on the details and status of our calculations and present the results for positive and negative parity, spin-$1/2$ and spin-$3/2$ states. |

ME.00008: Gauge SU(3) connection for the geometrical collective Yang-Mills model George Rosensteel The SU(3) gauge theory of collective modes is a significant extension of the Bohr-Mottelson legacy model in which collective wave functions of the Euler angles and $\beta, \gamma$ become vector-valued in an irreducible representation of SU(3). This SU(3) describes internal vorticity in the rotating frame. A symplectic model reciprocity theorem relates this ``vortex" SU(3) to Elliott SU(3) and the shell model. The differential geometry of Yang-Mills theory introduces a new ingredient, a gauge interaction, which couples the angular and vortex momenta via a covariant derivative and bundle connection. The new SU(3) gauge model builds on prior work about the Yang-Mills SO(3) gauge group model (J. Phys. A {\bf 48} (2015), EPL {\bf 119} (2017) 62001). |

ME.00009: Chiral soliton lattice effect on baryonic matter from skyrmion crystal model Mamiya Kawaguchi, Yong-Liang Ma, Shinya Matsuzaki The Chiral Soliton Lattice (CSL) is a periodic and parity-violating topological soliton, which have been studied in condensed-matter systems. In the hadron physics, various attempts are being made to adapt the idea of CSL to the baryonic matter. We explore the CSL effects on the baryonic matter based on the skrymion crystal approach. Dense baryonic matter is described as a skyrmion crystal which appears in two distinct phases as a function of the matter density (as the matter density increases, the skyrmion matter configuration is deformed from a face-centered cubic crystal to a cubic-centered crystal). It is found that the CSL causes an inverse catalysis for the structure transition in the baryonic matter. It also turns out that the CSL effects in a low density region distorts the shape of the baryonic matter. However, in a high density region, the CSL goes away due to the structure transition in the baryonic matter. |

ME.00010: Mathematical relations of the Onishi formula, Neergaard-Wust formula and the Pfaffian formula of Robledo’s Makito Oi, Takahiro Mizusaki, Noritaka Shimizu, Yang Sun The Onishi formula was proposed about a half century ago for the evaluation of the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov norm overlap functions. However, the formula suffers from the so-called sign problem. Neergaard and Wust proposed an alternative formula in 1980s’ for the remedy of the problem, but their paper has been long ignored for unclear reasons. The new formula was proposed by Robledo in 2009, which is expressed in terms of the Pfaffian. Robledo’s formula was widely accepted and is applied to many computational studies. |
