I13.00001: Measurement of the Top Quark Charge at D\O Ann Heinson We report on a measurement of the charge of the top quark by resolving the kinematic ambiguity between the standard model scenario of a charge 2/3 quark decaying to $W^{+}b$ and an exotic scenario of a charge -4/3 quark decaying to $W^{-}b$. We distinquish between the two scenarios by measuring the charge of the $b$ jet that is kinematically most consistent with arising from the same top quark as the charged lepton. [Preview Abstract] |

I13.00002: A Measurement of Top Quark Charge in CDF Zeynep Gunay The top quark was discovered in 1995 by the CDF and D0 experiments at Fermilab. Since its discovery there have been several measurements of the top quark's mass and cross section. Due to this quark's special role in electroweak symmetry breaking, other parameters such as its charge and spin should also be measured. After 3 years of taking data for Run II CDF now has enough statistics to attempt to measure the top quark's charge for the first time. The Standard Model predicts the top quark charge to be +2/3 but alternative theories allow a fourth generation exotic quark with a charge of -4/3. We present a method for measuring the sign of the top charge via its decay products and placing a limit on the likelihood of our data being consistent with the Standard Model. [Preview Abstract] |

I13.00003: Measurement of $B(t \rightarrow Wb)/B(t \rightarrow Wq)$ at D\O Reinhard Schwienhorst We report on a measurement of the ratio $R = B(t \rightarrow Wb)/B(t \rightarrow Wq)$. In the standard model this ratio is $> 0.998$ at the 95\% confidence level. Experimentally, we measure the ratio by noting the fraction of candidate events that have 0, 1, or 2 $b$-tagged jets. I13.00004: Measurement of the $W$ Boson Helicity in Top Quark Decay at D\O Bryan Gmyrek We report on a measurement of the fraction of right-handed $W$ bosons in top quark decay. In the standard model, this fraction is too small to measure with the current data sample, so a nonzero value would be a clear sign of new physics. The measurement uses $t\bar{t}$ events in both the lepton+jets and dilepton decay channels, and is based upon the helicity angle $\theta^*$ between the charged lepton and top quark directions in the $W$ boson rest frame. I13.00005: Measurement of the WW Production Cross Section and Anomalous Couplings in e+e-, emu, and mu+mu- Final States at Dzero Michael Cooke Data collected from April 2002 to December 2005 by the Dzero experiment at a center of mass energy of 1.96 TeV is used to measure the cross section of WW pair production in the e+e-, e mu, and mu+mu- final states. One and two dimensional 95{\%} Confindence Level limits on anomalous WWZ/WWPhoton trilinear couplings based on the W boson decays are also obtained, assuming the SU(2) x U(1) group symmetry of the electroweak regime. I13.00006: Measurement of the $W$+jets Inclusive Jet Multiplicity Cross Sections at CDF Dale Stentz We present preliminary measurements of the inclusive jet multiplicity cross sections for $W+$jets events produced in $p\bar{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt(s) = 1.96$~TeV. $W$ bosons are identified by their decays to electrons and muons in a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of approximately 350~pb$^-1$. I13.00007: Measurement of the $WW$ Cross Section at the Tevatron Shih-Chieh Hsu, Elliot Lipeles, Kevin McCarthy, Mark Neubauer, Frank W\"urthwein We present a measurement of $W^+W^-$ production at $\sqrt{s}=1.96$~TeV using $\approx$800 pb$^{-1}$ of data accumulated with the CDF~II detector. We select events where both $W$ bosons decay to a charged lepton and neutrino. The measured cross section is compared to a next-to-leading order (NLO) calculation. [Preview Abstract] |

I13.00008: Search for ttH at CDF Stan Lai The search for the elusive Higgs boson is an important goal for hadron collider experiments. The Fermilab Tevatron collides protons and anti-protons at a centre-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV, and is currently the only collider that has the potential to produce Higgs bosons. We present a search for $p\bar{p}\rightarrow t\bar{t}H$ production at the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF). Though such a process has a very small cross section, the final event topology is quite distinct, making it an interesting channel to study as it tests our understanding of the particles produced in association with top quarks. This measurement complements other searches for the Higgs boson using different channels at CDF. [Preview Abstract] |

I13.00009: Search for the FCNC Decay top$\rightarrow$cZ Ingyin Zaw We search for the flavor-changing neutral current decay of the top quark t$\rightarrow$cZ at CDF in p-pbar collisions at 1.96 TeV. This decay is extremely rare in the Standard Model and a signal at the Tevatron would be an indication of New Physics. Using Z+jets events with a lifetime tag, we are sensitive to branching fractions less than 10\%. [Preview Abstract] |
