SE2.00001: Special Event Movie: "Humanity Needs Dreamers: A Visit With Marie Curie" "Humanity Needs Dreamers: A Visit With Marie Curie" is a 40 minute immersive narrative science film inviting audiences to "meet" Marie Curie as she presents the life events and circumstances leading to her quest to pioneer the field of radioactivity, including a step-by-step demonstration of her methodologies used to isolate polonium and radium. Written and portrayed by a former engineer, Humanity Needs Dreamers breaks the digital fourth wall between live theater and film. As a scholarly presentation, the film is part of Princeton's Center for Complex Materials NSF outreach study in collaboration with STEM on Stage. Humanity Needs Dreamers won the 2017 Raw Science Film Festival award for "professional dramatic" and will be released in September 2018 through STEM on Stage. Currently in preview screenings. humanityneedsdreamers.org [Preview Abstract] |
