Optimising DUNE Field Cage Assembly: Assembling Modular Production with Remote Controlled Rotating Tables For Improved Safety and Efficiency

The Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) involves constructing a 13m x 13m x 60m field cage at the Sanford Underground Research Facility for neutrino detection. The High Energy Physics Group at UTA is developing a modular assembly process using remote-controlled rotating tables to improve efficiency and safety. The tables, powered by 24V DC brushless stepper motors and controlled via PWM, feature an IR sensor, Arduino microcontroller, and CLT86 motor driver in a feedback loop with encoders for precise assembly. This setup ensures accurate formation of aluminium profiles for the field cage modules.
