Cosmic Muon Signals in High Granularity Dual-Readout Calorimeter*

The original DREAM (Dual Readout Module) is being reconfigured into a Highly Granular DREAM (HG-DREAM) module at the Advanced Particle Detector Laboratory at TTU. As part of this process, we utilize cosmic muons to establish the detector's response to minimum ionizing particles. The scintillation and Cherenkov light generated by the cosmic muons in the HG-DREAM are read out by OnSemi silicon photomultipliers (SiPMs) with both fast and standard outputs. The standard output signals are fed into the CAEN FERS A5202 charge integrating units for total energy reconstruction, while the fast output signals are fed into CAEN DRS V1742 waveform digitizers for timing measurements.  Using the Cherenkov and scintillating signals, we can reconstruct muon tracks event-by-event. We discuss the production and capture of light in the clear and scintillating fibers, its detection by SiPMs, the signal waveforms recorded by the DRS, the charge integration by the FERS, and the overall data acquisition process, which is developed based on the EUDAQ framework.
