Crystalline Cerium-doped Lanthanum (III) Bromide gamma ray detectors are desirable for their increased resolution performance compared to other organic liquid scintillators, making them potential candidates for inelastic (n,n'g) measurements. However, a precise characterization of any detector is necessary before scientific use. We will analyze and investigate the characterization of a LaBr3 detector for potential use at the Neutron Time of Flight facility (n_TOF) at CERN. This includes the methods and results for testing the detector’s voltage response, resolution, and efficiency. The results of a trial run with Fe-56 in n_TOF’s experimental area one (EAR1) will be presented and examined and the detector's perfomance and suitability to be used for future inelastic cross section measurements in n_TOF EAR1 will be discussed.
