Time Synchronization of Phase 1c EMPHATIC Data

EMPHATIC is a tabletop (≈2 meters long) experiment with the goal to improve neutrino flux uncertainties. EMPHATIC’s data will ultimately benefit a variety of measurements using accelerator and atmospheric neutrinos. In 2022, EMPHATIC collected several data sets using the MTest beamline at Fermilab. One challenge to analyzing

this data is synchronizing time stamps across the sub-detectors that make up EMPHATIC. To address this challenge, we have developed a new method synchronize the data in post-processing. This talk will discuss the importance of time synchronization, the methods we developed to synchronize EMPHATIC’s data, and planned improvements to EMPHATIC timing in the future.
