Coupling between X-ray obscuration and UV absorption by AGN accretion disk winds*

In this numerical experiment we aim to construct a theoretical model that can account for the observed correlation between X-ray obscuration (From Chandra X-ray data) and UV absorption (From Hubble space telescope) due to CIV transition. In the context of magnetically driven disk wind scenarios, we calculate the broad band AGN spectrum through photoionization processes for various wind parameters ; e.g. Wind number density (5.9e12 - 1.7e14 cm^-3) and radial density profile (n~r^-0.7-r^-1.2). 

To better account for the observed correlation, we find that non-uniform distribution of CIV column density and X-ray obscuration are necessary, perhaps indicative of a clumpy component of the disk wind in addition to the underlying stratified wind component.
