An Update and Overview for the Measurement Of a Lepton-Lepton Electroweak Reaction (MOLLER) Experiment at Jefferson Lab*

MOLLER is a parity-violating electron scattering experiment set to begin data-taking in Jefferson Lab's experimental Hall A in 2026. The parity-violating asymmetry of Møller scattered electrons, A_PV, will be measured to within 0.8ppb and used to extract the weak charge of the electron, Q_W^e, to never before seen levels of precision with the goal of probing poorly understood areas of the Standard Model as well as possibly discover Beyond Standard Model physics. In order to achieve this, MOLLER has been designed to limit the contributions from background processes using a complex spectrometer system paired with a highly segmented main detector. Dedicated optics data will also be taken to understand and reduce kinematic uncertainties. This talk will outline the physics motivation for MOLLER as well as give a overview of the experimental apparatus.
