Realization, optimization and characterization of a dynamical optical tweezer array for a ytterbium neutral-atom quantum computer.*

We designed an optical system including a Digital Micromirror Device (DMD), a microlens array and a galvanometer scanner creating a dynamic array of over 1,600 optical tweezers. We optimized and characterized the intensity uniformity and stability, with the goal of efficient rearrangement of atoms in another ytterbium tweezer array. We plan to use the tweezer arrays to study quantum many body systems starting from a well defined state and apply qubit gates. We believe this will allow us to increase the coherence time of quantum systems beyond the records of prior neutral atom quantum computers.
