D05.00001: Search for Sources of IceCube Astrophysical Neutrinos Invited Speaker: Erik K Blaufuss The IceCube Neutrino Observatory instruments a cubic-kilometer of glacial ice under the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station, Antarctica to detect neutrinos above ~100 GeV and perform astro-particle observations of the Universe. Astrophysical neutrinos are expected to be created in the birthplaces of high-energy cosmic rays, and point the way back to these elusive sources. Since IceCube's detection of a diffuse flux of high-energy astrophysical neutrinos in 2013, identifying their sources has been the primary science goal. This talk with will present the latest measurements of the astrophysical neutrino flux and highlight results from realtime alerts generated by astrophysical neutrino detections that trigger rapid follow-up observations by the community. In particular, a neutrino alert in September, 2017 triggered world-wide astronomical observations, and provide evidence that the Fermi-LAT identified blazar TXS 0506+056 is the first multi-messenger source producing neutrinos, as well as an accelerator of cosmic rays. |

D05.00002: (g-2), Lepton flavor violation, and Z decays with leptoquarks: Correlations and future prospects Estefania Coluccio Leskow, Giancarlo D´Ambrosio, Andreas Crivellin, Dario Muller The long-standing anomaly in the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon indicates the presence of chirality violating new physics contributions. A possible solution involves scalar leptoquarks with left- and right-handed couplings to the top quark. Two such representations of scalar leptoquarks exist for which the contribution to (g-2)μ can possess an mt/mμ enhancement compared to the Standard Model. The leptoquarks also induce loop corrections to Z couplings to muons which probe as well new physics contributions which possess sources of SU(2) symmetry breaking and we find that this effect should be observable at future experiments as GigaZ or TLEP. Furthermore, once interactions of the leptoquark with tau leptons and electrons are present, additional correlated effects in anomalous magnetic moments, Z→ℓℓ′ and ℓ→ℓ′γ, arise, which can be used to test the model and to determine the flavor structure of the couplings. We find that the two representations of leptoquarks can be distinguished also from low-energy experiments. |

D05.00003: Results from the Large Hadron Collider Invited Speaker: Yuri Gershtein This Fall, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) will finish it's first run at the designed energy. Integrated luminosity of about 150 inverse femtobarn, or 1/20th of the total expected dataset, has been accumulated. In this talk, I will present a short review of what has been achieved during this run and give an outlook for the future of the LHC program. |

D05.00004: Search for Irregular Features in Cosmic Ray Showers using Sparse Cosmic Ray Arrays. Abaz Kryemadhi There has been a large number of mini cosmic ray arrays deployed around the world partly for education partly for research. These arrays typically make use of time difference among different detectors in the array to measure the arrival direction and use a GPS time stamp for correlation among different sites. We have used two arrays one in Central Pennsylvania and one at University of Tirana, Albania as prototype work in order to establish a framework with which we can explore the cosmic ray shower irregularities and the underlying diffusion of cosmic rays in the interstellar magnetic field. Fermi National Laboratory developed the detectors for the QuarkNet Program. The results of this work will be presented. |
