Quantum materials synthesis stands at the forefront of the second “Quantum Revolution,” a burgeoning time that offers compelling advantages for an array of information science and sensing technologies. In this evolving field, the quest for innovation necessitates the exploration of novel materials platforms. Quantum materials synthesis serves as the bedrock for forging new avenues of discovery, refining processing techniques, and achieving scalability while concurrently enriching our understanding of condensed matter systems.
This short course will showcase the expertise of three distinguished speakers, who will deliver pedagogical tutorial presentations on contemporary materials synthesis modalities. These modalities span a wide spectrum of techniques specifically tailored to the synthesis of quantum materials, broadly defined: the creation of bulk single crystals, the engineering of thin films and heterostructures, and the precision crafting of two-dimensional materials at the atomic level. Moreover, the course will delve into the exciting realm of materials design, data-driven discovery, and the paradigm of high-throughput experimentation.
