Stabilizing Coherence and Arbitrary Target Properties with Hamiltonian Control - Part 2: Experiment*

Preserving certain properties of quantum systems such as coherence or fidelity is essential for the realization of the power of quantum computers. We apply the theory discussed in Part 1 to experimentally show that we can fully stabilize a qubit's coherence in the presence of single-axis dephasing noise using Hamiltonian control. This stabilization persists until a critical breakdown time, after which point the coherence decays as usual. We also discuss the efficacy of such control Hamiltonians for preserving coherence in the presence of multi-axis dephasing and relaxation.
