Two Qubit Gates for the 0-π qubit Part 2*

Protected qubits such as the 0 − π hold the potential to eventually be more resistant to noise than qubits used today. While single qubit control has been experimentally demonstrated in the "soft 0 – π" regime, two qubit gates for the 0 – π have yet to be developed. Building upon the previous talk, we numerically demonstrate a CNOT gate for 0 – π, enabled by identifying a lambda-like subsystem within the system of two coupled qubits and driving both qubits independently. Tradeoffs in gate design and identifying the best transitions in the coupled system will be discussed. Finally, we will present results from a simulation where we show a CNOT-like gate between two soft 0 – π qubits with a less than 1% occupation of unprotected non-computational states.
