Nearly-optimal simulation of quantum field theory*

I will present recent results on state preparation and time evolution in quantum field theories, based on utilizing quantum simulation algorithms with nearly-optimal scaling in problem parameters. I will also discuss ways to overcome the major bottleneck of such methods — the efficient implementation of block encoding — with the aid of the recently developed Quantum Eigenvalue Transformation for Unitary Matrices.
