Atomically thin PdSe2 is an air-stable 2D semiconductor with a pentagonal structure. Here we use few-layer graphene to contact few-layer PdSe2 sheets that are encapsulated within hexagonal BN layers. Record mobility has been achieved, enabling the first experimental observation of Shubnikov-de Hass oscillation in a pentagonal 2D material. Interestingly, the Landau fan reveals an 8-fold degeneracy, arising from 2-fold spin and 4-fold valley degeneracies. We will discuss the latest experimental results in conjunction with theoretical calculations.
