The presence of the blue phase is characterized by the equilibrium equations for this texture resulting from the minimization of the free energy density. Alongside with these, Maxwell's equations under the presence of a blue phase are considered and the coupled governing equations are written and solved.
With this, it is possible to obtain blue phase configurations parameterized for different anchoring energies from which the band structure and electromagnetic fields associated to these textures are calculated.
