Thin wide-gap chiral insulators are candidate materials for non-linear nano-optics devices, such as emitters or reflectors. They can be realized by the relative twist of thin flakes of Van der Waals materials, like hexagonal Boron Nitride (hBN). We calculate the Second Harmonic Polarization (SHP) response of twisted few-layer flake models. Our results illustrate that the insulators are well described by a decoupled flake limit for driving frequencies below half the electronic gap. We discuss the influence of the nonlinear polarization sources on Second Harmonic Generation (SHG) from reflection.
