Topological defects, namely, dislocations and disclinations, play a crucial role in two-dimensional curved crystals. They are needed to reduce an excess strain that is produced by curved geometries. In this talk we present a detailed analysis of the actual distribution of defects in concrete examples that include a spherical cap, a Gaussian bump and a toroidal patch.
