Unraveling the Hard Probe-Induced Medium Response with Jet Data*

We present physics analyses sensitive to the medium response induced by hard probes in heavy-ion collisions using jet and hadrons tagged with electroweak bosons. By studying the modifications observed in the underlying events and in these jets produced within the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) compared to a vacuum, we aim to unravel the intricate interplay between energetic partons and the QGP constituents.

To achieve this goal, we investigate the energy loss, angular distributions, and substructure observables of electroweak boson-tagged jets as well as boson-tagged underlying events to characterize and understand the medium response. We also explore the interplay between partonic shower evolution and interactions with the QGP, shedding light on jet quenching phenomena. Those results are compared to calculations based on the state-of-art theoretical models.
