1WDA.00001: Anomalous chiral transport in nuclear physics and beyond Invited Speaker: Igor A Shovkovy I will review the fundamentals of chiral anomalous effects and point out possible applications in heavy-ion physics, astrophysics, and topological semimetals. I will spotlight the evidence in support of anomalous chiral transport in topological semimetals and try to draw lessons for other fields. |

1WDA.00002: Light-induced chiral gauge field in 3D Dirac electrons in condensed matter Invited Speaker: Takashi Oka The chiral gauge field (CGF) plays a crucial role in condensed matter physics, particularly in materials known as Dirac and Weyl semimetals. Weyl semimetals arise from the breaking of time-reversal or spatial-inversion symmetries in Dirac semimetals. Recently, there has been a growing interest in manipulating these topological states by utilizing CGF through the application of light on materials. Using the framework of Floquet engineering [1], the impact of a circularly polarized laser on 3D Dirac electrons can be understood as the emergence of an effective CGF [2]. In this presentation, we will discuss the latest theoretical and experimental [3] efforts aimed at demonstrating laser-induced CGF and its implications in the field of ultrafast topological electronics. |

1WDA.00003: Perspectives and Discussions on Chirality and Vorticity Invited Speaker: Jinfeng Liao This talk aims to bring into focus a number of most pressing issues pertaining to the latest measurements on novel effects arising from chirality and vorticity in heavy ion collisions. Puzzles in interpretating these data, challenges in our theoretical understanding of such phenomena as well as needed future efforts to address them will be emphasized, with the hope to entail vibrant discussions among all participants. |
