The most fundamental calculations of transport properties are based on the Boltzmann equation. To solve that equation, the elastic differential cross sections are used. Such data are however very scarce because transport properties are typically calculated with the Chapman-Enskog theory which requires more integrated quantities.
The differential cross sections of the collisions of the ground state atoms were calculated and reported in the energies from 10-4 up to 0.8-3.7 hartree.
They were verified by comparison with the integrated and momentum-transfer cross sections. The importance of appropriate grid of angles and possibility of neglecting the smallest phase shifts are discussed.
The results are based on the publication M. Buchowiecki, Atomic Data and Nuclear Data Tables, 155, 101620 (2024) and unpublished data (for O-O and N-N collisions).
