DOE is currently undertaking a long-range strategic planning activity encompassing the entire Fusion Energy Sciences portfolio. The Community Planning Process (CPP, https://sites.google.com/pppl.gov/dpp-cpp/home) is an opportunity for the plasma science community to provide input. It will advise FESAC, who is charged with developing specific recommendations. The CPP is organized in four categories: Magnetic Fusion Energy, Fusion Materials & Technology, High Energy Density Plasmas and Discovery Plasma Science. This forum will provide an update on the status of the Discovery Plasma Science category, as well as an opportunity to provide input and to discuss the future of our research field.
