Self Consistent Solution to Quantum Kinetic Evolution of Neutrinos in the Early Universe*

We study the quantum kinetic evolution of neutrinos in the early universe. In this hot and dense environment, neutrino evolution is influenced by two competing effects: quantum coherence, which builds up quantum phase, and inelastic scattering, which kinetically destructs this phase. We develop a parallelized model to solve the collision integral terms in full and in this way obtain a self consistent and accurate solution to the QKEs with minimal approximations. We discuss the findings for neutrino evolution in the first few seconds after the Big Bang.
