Efficient Guiding of Intense Ultrafast Laser Pulses in Hollow-Core Optical Fibers for MeV Class Laser Plasma Acceleration*

We are developing a compact handheld MeV X-ray imaging system based on laser-plasma acceleration (LPA) and Kagome hollow-core flexible fiber technology. A key step toward this goal is the efficient delivery of high-intensity laser pulses through the fiber to drive the accelerator. Our current work focuses on guiding femtosecond laser pulses through the fiber core, characterizing transmission efficiency, and determining the damage threshold as the pulse intensity is increased. The ultimate objective is to reliably transmit pulses near this threshold, enabling stable LPA-driven X-ray generation for portable imaging applications.
