Simulation of Proximitized Superconductivity in Weyl Semimetals with Broken Inversion Symmetry*

We numerically model the behavior of the BCS pairing amplitude of a device consisting of an S-wave superconductor in contact with a broken inversion Weyl Semimetal. This is done by solving the BdG equation written in a basis that spans the entire heterostructure, allowing the calculation to be done without an assumed tunneling model. Four total pairings are calculated: the host BCS pairing, and three modes that arise due to the broken inversion symmetry. Our simulations show that all four modes decay rapidly within the Weyl Semimetal, which suggests that, in the absence of supportive tunneling effects, any interesting proximity effects are isolated to the interface.
