The L4n beamline will provide shaped nanosecond pulses of up to 1.5 kJ at a maximum repetition rate of one shot per minute.
This beamline will provide unique possibilities for high-pressure, high-energy-density physics, warm dense matter, laboratory astrophysics and laser-plasma interaction experiments in general. With the synchronization to L3 it will be possible to perform backlighter experiments in either a short focal length configuration (proton radiography, K-alpha backlighter) or long focal length configuration (betatron setup, broad X-rays).
The talk will present a detailed overview of the experimental infrastructure and the future possibilities for user operation.
